Olivia's 2nd First Day of School

Today Liv was feeling quite a bit better, so we decided to take her official first day of school pictures in the backyard.

Heading into school to catch the action, while clinging to Dora. She ended the day without pigtails, with a few small scratches on her face and dirt on her knees. Her teachers said she cried a bit after nap-time (during which she barely closed her eyes), saying she missed her mommy. Overall, she was cautious, but obliging and social. Sounds like my girl!
After school, we celebrated by taking Liv to her favorite restaurant (Cici's pizza buffet). We were hoping to chat with her about school and catch her feelings about everything. Halfway through, however, she spotted Dora on a nearby TV and stood in front of the muted television like a zombie, while we finished eating. She was pretty worn out!

ian the photographer

Ian was pretty excited to help buy me a new camera for my birthday last summer and it has been fun to watch him play around with it and become quite good. Sunday was a beautiful day and we were still dressed up from church, so we headed outside for a little photo shoot with the girls.

almost done ...

Thanks to Aunt Laura, we have beautiful birth announcements to send out to our friends and family and we are almost done. Only a couple more left.

1st Day of School

Today was supposed to be Liv's first day of "school" at Notre Dame's ECDC (Early Childhood Development Center). She woke up very excited, but it became obvious fairly quickly that she would not make it to school today because she was getting more and more feverish. At exactly the time we would've been loading up the car to head over to ND, she fell asleep in my arms as I rocked her in the glider. (Lucky for me, Noelle was sound asleep as well, so I could give Liv all the attention she needed.)

As a result, here is Livvie's first ever "1st Day of School" photo.
